The Beat

We stayed in the Hanok for 6 nights and would def go back and recommend it to my family and friends. Mr Lee and his wife took excellent care of us. The Hanok is in a terrific spot, is between two subways and a 5 min walk to insadong and a 10 mins walk to the subway, excellent eating places all around and a a currency exchange place on the Cnr which gave us better rates than anywhere else. Mr Lee made breakfast for us each morning and was very helpful and kind with everything else. The Hanok is very quiet down a side street (that a taxi cannot get to so you need to be dropped off on the Cnr and then walk down) We woke each morning to birds singing. You would never know that is was in the middle of the city, so nice to be able to sit outside.

A traditional Korean guesthouse in an ideal part of Seoul for visiting the impressive royal palaces etc. Mr Lee and his family are very friendly and helpful hosts, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Korean experience.

Good and convenient location, few minutes walk from the...

Good and convenient location, few minutes walk from the train station, and walking distance to airport shuttle bus stop. Also, just a short walking distance to Insadong street. The room is clean, cosy and comfortable. Owners are very friendly, nice and helpful! Will come back to stay again and recommend to friends.

Value for money, cultural experience, safe, hospitality, facilities and location.

We were served not quite simple western breakfast (toast with jams, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, milk & juice, instant coffee & tea) despite our booking doesn't include breakfast. The host even invited us for breakfast when we requested to drop our luggage before check-in time at 8am. The size of family room of 4 is just enough to lay 4 single futons and 4 cabin size luggage.The room was warm and cozy and come with private (not attached) small bathroom (with electric bidet) that need to be access from the dining room.

The location is excellent, near palaces, tourist attraction, shopping and food, as well as a bath house, Insadong Hanjeungmak, at the next lane. Ideal would be 3 nites stay to cover all attractions.

Convenient location but it was not a good choice for my expectations.

May be the host. But nothing else much.

I had the impression that there are private bath and toilet, there was not. There was only one room with such luxury. It was cold, had only bare minimum amenities. It was a wrong choice for my expectations.

Amazing location

Located close to palaces, Insadong, two subway stations and bus routes. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Excellent bathroom with washing machine. Heated bedroom. Comfortable mattress. Access to kitchen with tea provided. Great to stay in traditional style accommodation. Outdoor area to meet other guests.

What was the highlight of Namhyeondang Hanok Guesthouse

A very peaceful, convenient and pleasant place to stay.

The property is in a very convenient location, close to a busy shopping and restaurant area, palaces and temples, and also buses to the airport. Despite being in such a busy area, it was extremely peaceful. There was a very pleasant communal courtyard in which a decent breakfast was served by the host. I appreciated the fact that it was possible to use the kitchen to make drinks and I liked the fact that often there was soft music playing. I found the host very kind and helpful.

The room on the first occasion I stayed had a separate bathroom across the courtyard, which I found a bit inconvenient. However on the second occasion the bathroom was attached to the room, which was for me a much better arrangement.

100% hanok experience

Beautiful and very clean hanok. Great place closed to main palaces in Seoul. Very kind staff. Birds in the yard.

School music in the morning was a little bit annoying. But it is not something the staff can change. ;-) The breakfast is very basic.
